DB (Rwanda Development Board) CEO Jean-Guy Afrika met with a delegation from Japan’s mining sector led by the Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda, Nakajo Kazuya.
Also, present Takuya Kimura, – Special Adviser to Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry – ; alongside representatives from public institutions and private companies.
Discussions focused on Rwanda’s mining sector, investment opportunities and potential areas of cooperation between Rwanda and Japan.
Rwanda and Japan are actively strengthening their bilateral cooperation in the mining sector through targeted trade delegations, private sector matchmaking, and strategic investments in mineral value addition.
The partnership focuses heavily on Rwanda’s traditional “3T” minerals (tin, tantalum, and tungsten) alongside modern investments in mechanization, technology transfers, and local processing capabilities. (End)
